Start with current drawings, an opening schedule and the performance brief. Add the site location, supply option and deadline so your quotation reflects the products and work you need.
Tell us what you are building or refurbishing, where it is and which aluminium products are needed. Select supply-only if your team will install, or supply and installation if you want AW to include the site work.
Include both the quotation deadline and your intended delivery or installation dates. These are different milestones, and both help us understand the enquiry.
Plans and elevations show where the glazing sits in the building. Window and door schedules identify the number of units, sizes and opening arrangements. For curtain walling, include the full elevation and relevant connection details.
Use current drawing revisions and identify any differences between the drawings and schedules. If dimensions are indicative, mark them clearly so they can be treated as preliminary.
Include the specified manufacturer and full range reference, if selected. Add glazing, colour, finish and hardware requirements, together with the thermal, acoustic, weather and security criteria set by your design team.
If the system has not been chosen, describe what the glazing needs to achieve and which decisions remain open. Performance evidence must relate to the proposed assembly, including its dimensions and configuration.
For installation, describe site access, phasing, lifting arrangements and any areas that will remain occupied. Identify who is providing enabling works, access equipment and preparation of the openings.
For supply-only, explain delivery access and unloading arrangements. Tell us whether the units are needed together or in phases, and who is coordinating their installation.
A useful quotation sets out the products, system, glazing, finish and services included. When comparing suppliers, check those details alongside delivery, installation, exclusions and any outstanding design decisions.
You can enquire before every detail is settled. Identify the unknowns and the stage of the design so assumptions can be made clear and reviewed as the project develops.
